Rica and Brian were eating the results of my upcoming ManilaSpeak recipe for Chocnut spread. It is a chocolate candy made with roasted peanuts, cane sugar, chocolate powder, milk powder, and vanilla. For many Filipinos, Chocnut is a bite of childhood.

Rica, Billie, and Brian are spending the weekend with us to catch up on some work, pampering, and conversation. We asked our neighborhood manicurist to visit to drop by and give us some pampering. Enjoy your weekend! I’m sure we will.
To start off the Year of the Wooden Horse, Reggie had lunch at Masuki, along Benavidez Street in Chinatown with our friends Cha and Jah.
Ballet Philippines had an open rehearsal at the CCP Rehearsal Hall for their upcoming performance of “The Art of Dance”, showing this coming February 14-23 at the RCBC Theater in Makati. I was able to take pictures, so my photo of the day post is going to be very long today. I actually took about 2900+ stills on my iPhone 5S. Who knew I could take so many pictures in the span of 60 minutes! I narrowed it down to my best shots for the day. It’s still about 81 pictures. They presented 8 excerpts from the show. The show is very different in that there are two versions of the show, Day and Night. Day is for the general public. Night, is a bit more risqué, and is considered for mature audiences only.
Excerpt 1 is from “Paquita”, choreographed by Marius Petipa and Pierre-Frédéric Malavergne, being restaged for Ballet Philippines by Victor Ursabia. Music by Edouard Deldevez. Highlights principal dancers Jean Marc Cordero and Katherine Trofeo.

My Sukiyaki recipe is up at ManilaSpeak. This recipe deviates a bit from the traditional in that it requires you to sauté the vegetables before adding them to the soup. I find this adds flavor to the vegetables. You only sauté them for a …
While taking a break at the office, I took a picture of this white flower. The plants at the office balcony are part of our beautification project. I had our office manager Pas choose the plants, but she wasn’t able to remember the name of this plant. So if you know the name, please let me know so I can label it properly.

Earlier this year, I decided to try the Bullet Journal system to see if it would suit my needs. So far, I’m finding it much easier to use than a pre-formatted paper planner. It is better for my tasks, thoughts, and notes. Having something physical …
